Founded in 1837 by the Society of Friends, known as Quakers, Guilford College draws on Quaker and liberal arts traditions to prepare men and women for a lifetime of learning, work, and constructive action dedicated to the betterment of the world.

About 58% of students are receiving need-based financial assistance averaging $15,780.

Guilford awards over $21 million in need-based aid, merit awards, and other entitlements, and the average merit-based award is $6,711.
